Shilen makes great quality barrels, but not because the rifling style. The performance comes from good quality blanks with sharp tooling, good quality control, so on, so on. The ratchet rifling is marketing. Maybe it makes a difference, but it's not enough of a difference for a mere mortal like myself to notice. A pre-fit barrel has to have the smallest threads allowed in the tolerance to make sure that it fits the smallest action in the tolerance.
